Program Itinerary:


Day 1 (Saturday):

Reception @ airport and transfer to hotel in Antigua (1 h). Depending on your arrival time, you can still enjoy a relaxed evening walk through the cobble stone streets of this colonial town. Overnight in colonial-style hotel.


Day 2 (Sunday):

Transfer from Antigua to Chichi (2½ h). Visit the indigenous market, observe Mayan rituals in Santo Tomás church, and alternatively hike to nearby ceremonial site Pascual Abaj. Then continue to Panajachel (1½ h). FREE TIME. Overnight.


Day 3 (Monday):

Start boat tour of stunning Lake Atitlán visiting San Juan La Laguna, Santiago Atitlán with its great art galleries and the Maximón sanctuary, and San Antonio Palopó, offering a great selection of hand woven products. Return to Pana. Transfer to Antigua (2½ h). Overnight.


Day 4 (Tuesday):

FREE DAY in Antigua. Options include: a) Pacaya volcano; b) walking tour in Antigua – La Merced church, Santa Catalina arch, Central Plaza with cathedral and Palacio de Capitanes, San Francisco church with the shrine of Guatemala’s only saint – Hermano Pedro, University San Carlos or Museum of Santiago; c) Finca Filadelfia coffee plantation; d) Valhalla Macadamia Nut Farm; e) Women’s Weaving Cooperative in San Antonio Aguascalientes; f) Don Filiberto “Life of a Campesino in San Miguel Escobar; g) Tour de Pueblos visiting Calvario church, Convent San Juan del Obispo, Macadamia Nut Farm in San Miguel Duenas and Women's Weaving Cooperative in San Antonio Aguascalientes; h) Bike Tour “Antigua Valley". PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR OPTIONAL TOURS IN ADVANCE. Overnight.


Day 5 (Wednesday):

Early transfer to airport in Guatemala City. Flight to Flores. Transfer to Tikal National Park. Half-day guided tour of Tikal archaeological site, visiting Complex Q, Main Plaza, North and Central Acropolis, Complex Lost World and Temple IV. FREE AFTERNOON to re-enter the archaeological zone. Overnight.


Day 6 (Thursday):

Optional bird-watching tours or canopy tours available. FREE MORNING to visit onsite museums or re-enter the archaeological zone (Q150 entrance fee not included). Afternoon transfer to Flores airport and flight to Guatemala City. Transfer back to Antigua. Overnight.


Day 7 (Friday):

Early transfer to Copán (Honduras). Visit to Copán archaeological site (museum & tunnels not included). Optional visit to Macaw Mountain Bird Park and Nature Reserve showing a variety of local bird and plant species. Return to Antigua (5 h). Overnight.


Day 8 (Saturday):

FREE MORNING in Antigua to take care of last-minute shopping at the local craft market and then it is time to say good-bye. Transfer Antigua-airport.
