Day 1 (Saturday):
Reception @ airport and transfer to hotel in Antigua (1 h). Depending on your arrival time, you can still enjoy a relaxed evening walk through the cobble stone streets of this colonial town. Overnight in colonial-style hotel.
Day 2 (Sunday):
Transfer from Antigua to Chichi (2½ h). Visit the indigenous market, observe Mayan rituals in Santo Tomás church, and alternatively hike to nearby ceremonial site Pascual Abaj. Then continue to Pana (1½ h). Hike from Mirador Godinez "Mario Mendez Montenegro" towards Lake Atitlán and Santa Catarina Palopó (2½ h). After exploring the indigenous village, return to Panajachel. FREE TIME. Overnight.
Day 3 (Monday):
Early boat transfer to San Pedro La Laguna for climbing San Pedro Volcano (approx. 4-5 h). Enjoy excellent view of Santiago Atitlán. Descend and return to pier. Take boat back to Pana. Transfer to Antigua. Overnight.
Day 4 (Tuesday)
Visit San Andrés Itzapa, home to Maximón cult. Afterwards brief walking tour in Antigua visiting La Merced church, Santa Catalina Arch, Plaza Central, University San Carlos or Museum Santiago. Afternoon: Bike tour Antigua Valley visiting Calvario church, Convent San Juan del Obispo, Macadamia Nut Farm and a women's weaving cooperative in San Antonio Aguascalientes. Overnight.
Day 5 (Wednesday):
Early transfer to airport in Guatemala City. Flight to Flores. Transfer to Tikal National Park. Half-day guided tour of Tikal archeological site, visiting Complex Q, Main Plaza, North and Central Acropolis, Complex Lost World and Temple IV. Lunch (included). FREE AFTERNOON to re-enter the archeological zone. Overnight.
Day 6 (Thursday):
Optional bird-watching tours or canopy tours available. FREE MORNING to visit onsite museums or re-enter the archeological zone (Q50 entrance fee not included). Return to Flores. FREE TIME. Overnight.
Day 7 (Friday):
Transfer to Yaxhá. Site visit includes: Group A, Group B, Group C, Temple 216, North Acropolis, Group Malher, and the impressive avenues and landscapes of Sacnab Lagoons. Afternoon transfer to Flores airport and flight to Guatemala City. Transfer to hotel in Guatemala City. Overnight.
Day 8 (Saturday):
FREE MORNING in Guatemala City. Optional: City Tour visiting National Palace, Cathedral, Museums Popol Vuh and Ixchel, and the Relieve Map of Guatemala, and then it is time to say good-bye. Drop-off at airport.
