Tour Itinerary (departs Fri, min. 4 people)

Day 1:



You will be picked up at your hotel/homestay and depart for Copán (Honduras).


Breakfast break in Río Hondo.  You will then continue your way to the Honduras border.  Your driver/guide will take care of all formalities when crossing the border.  Just hand him your passport.


Arrive Copán ruins and start guided tour with local guide (tunnels & museum not included).


Arrive and check-in to hotel in the town of Copán Ruinas.




Visit Macaw Mountain Bird Park & Nature Reserve

Day 2:



Depart early for Jocotán.


Breakfast in Jocotán at the local children’s hospital.

  Dispensario Bethania is a recovery center for malnourished children, run by nuns who dedicate their lives to the care of children suffering from malnutrition and mistreatmente. You also can buy "heavenly" homemade mango and pinapple jelly or body care articles. 


Arrive in Rio Dulce.

Take boat to Livingston and check-in hotel.  Continue for a guided afternoon walk to the Garífuna town of Livingston.


Enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 3:


Breakfast (not included).


Boat Tour Rio Dulce - Flowing down to the Carribean Coast from Lake Izabal is the 26-mile jungle bordered Rio Dulce. Along the river banks are many natural and historic sites including Castillo San Felipe, an old colonial fortress, and sulphuric hot springs. Located in the north central part of Rio Dulce's El Golfete is a 17.791 acre protected area created to preserve the manatee (sea cow), the largest mammal in Guatemala. Most of the protected area is broken and rugged terrain crossed by the Chocon Machacas and Cienaga rivers. The area has at least 60 species of trees, approx. 180 migrating bird species, of the existing 300, and a large variety of mammals, fish, turtles, toads, frogs and iguanas.


Depart for Quiriguá.


Arrive at Quiriguá and visit the archeological site.


Depart for Antigua.


Arrive back in Antigua.
